hey will the clutch pads from a 1985 aero fit the spree its a 3 pad setup and they look dam close

Engines and clutches turn opposite directions.

Greetings:

Someone here has attempted to use a Variated-engine clutch on an NQ50 Spree. Physically was made to fit the shaft but the cover had to be cut in half and the rear left open. As The Bear hinted, the opposite direction of rotation means that the clutch pads aren't going to "Bite" because they're hinged at the opposite ends. However it was reported to work, sort of, with slippage clearly an issue.

so cant i do that my cover is already halved to look cooler i suppose was like that when i got it i would need the springs the shoes and the clutch bell correct

You need everything but the sheave halfs. You have to cut down the contra spring. Look for the build thread, I think he upped the grabbers for a better bite.
