Spree tires
I know they've been talked to death, and on some my other motorcycle boards every time someone posts about oil or tires a kitten dies. Well, I done some searching, come up empty handed and I don't like cats so here goes.
I think Western Power Sports send me the wrong tires. They're golden boys 80/90 ~ 10's, they look really really big for my little 85' Spree. I had told the boss to order the 2.75's....but I swear these look more like 3.00's.
Fit or not I guess is the question??
Thanks in advance,
Peace,
Frank

Re: Spree tires
2.5 or 2.75 will fit
3.0 I believe will fit front but not rear

Re: Spree tires
I thought 2.75's were the biggest that would fit up front on a spree?

Re: Spree tires
3.00s can fit but they can be a PITA to mount on the tiny rims.
also, depending on what your setup is (i.e. height of current shock),
you just need to be aware of any clearance issues. I've seen some setups that just barely fit.

Re: Spree tires
80/90~10's or 2.75~10's (same tire) fit, you have to angle the back a little.
A lot of my confusion was info got from a friend and the thought that I had stock tires.....but in the real world it had a 2.75 on the back and a 2.50 in the front.....
I made an assumption
I of all people should have known better.
If only Wikispreedia covered tire sizes or did I miss it?
Peace,
Frank

Re: Spree tires

oh you are correct sir.
I am pretty sure a 90/90 only fits dio/sprees
A 3.00 tire will not fit between the front forks of a spree.
A 3.00 tire in the rear will rub the stock air box and possibly the case on a spree.

Re: Spree tires
80/90~10's should be, for the most part interchangeable for the 2.75~10s.1CrazyMoFo wrote:80/90~10's or 2.75~10's (same tire) fit, you have to angle the back a little.
Please be aware that there are minor differences between the two,
just as they are between different brands.
The circumference of the metric tires are sometimes wider,
resulting in a slightly fatter tire.

Re: Spree tires
I know this an old thread but I put a 3.00 x 10 on my 87 Honda Spree in the front with absolutely no trouble at all.
The ride is much better too.
I don't know if I will even try the back.. just put the tire in the fender well without the rim and is seems pretty snug and might just rub.
Plus I don't want the higher gear ratio from the bigger tire.
37 mph is plenty fast on this little tiger and it takes a block to get it there...
