Moped Registration.

Post by SkeeTownSpree »

Hello,

When I bought my moped my friend signed the title off to me. Now am I supposed to take that and go to the SOS and get it re-registered in my name even though I signed all my information on the other side of the title? I bought it for 400, anyone know if there are any fees or taxes that I will have to pay to get the title in my name?

The questions may sound confusing...sorry, but if you could help me out in any way it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Is the decal expired?
There is a $15 fee for a three-year registration decal (expires April 30 in the year on the decal).

The original moped license is $7.50. Applicants under 20 will receive a moped license valid until their 21st birthday. Any other moped license expires four years from the applicant's last birthday. The 4-year renewal fee is $6.

You may have to fill out a Moped Certification Form: SAS-430 (10/8) http://www.michigan.gov/documents/sos/S ... 0967_7.pdf
It really is best to call your local Department of Motor Vehicles.

Info was taken from http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,1607,7-12 ... --,00.html michigan.gov website.

Don't worry, it's usually not as hard as it sounds to be (usually. o.O). :nervous: j/k
