Yet another Eugene member! Welcome and good score.

The prices for petcock covers can get a little crazy, just to warn ya.

Actually it was priced very reasonably, but I've spent enough this week and I'm not sure what direction I'm going yet, stock, fur, naked (the scooter), or what? I thought this was gonna be a wham bam, the scooter runs pretty good, was gonna be tires, paint, and crate.

But, oh, she's such a dirty girl!

And I like my stuff to be cleaner, don't dig the gunk of neglect. With the analnility of my personality, I just wanna take things apart and make everything clean and happy. I am glad I caught the air filter element as it had gotten pretty oil rotted. Snow and rain here, if my plans for today get canceled it might get pretty strange here in my little room.

devenex, cool nice to meet a local, when I get this thing back together we'll hook up, terrorize the street. (like how I assume you have a running scooter).
Peace,
Frank

Don't worry, my spree is always road ready. The Aero I've been working on though...

Hope the hail didn't delay any planned work today. I knew it was coming as soon as the rain broke for about an hour of sunshine in the late morning.

Tires on, brakes cables lubed and inspected, bearings, shoes, most of the scooter proper is semi clean. Going for new gas and vacuum line shortly. Hand controls polished up a little. Plastics are still ugly, I don't really care for the moment.

I still need to paint and re-grease the head set bearings, but that's another day.

I work on dirty motorcycles all day, I don't have to at home.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a clean freak, but mechanical dirt and road dirt are two different things. Mechanical dirt is evil, it comes from lack of maintenance and neglect. Road dirt is just dirt, dry earth hanging from the bike after miles and miles of fun and smiles. My Gl 1000 hasn't been washed in two years, maybe this spring.....if I paint the Spree it will be the shiniest thing I own.

I know you are gonna have fun on the Spree. Errands become adventures.
Even though your need for two-wheel speed is already addressed by the big-boy bikes you also own, I expect you to fall prey to the vortex that spins around the scooter universe and sucks in unassuming victims who find themselves intrigued by pint-sized rockets.....rock-on...... 8)

Well, with the weather being nasty, no adventures for a bit.
The new to me fender/air box is on and no more rubbing!!
Also, got the tail light figured out, going back to stock and it's study enough to mount some blinkers to....the stock blinkers are too DOT and up tight for me, like I'm being oppressed by the man. Going with early 70's honda signals on the back...the front??? Still thinking on it.

Also, in a fit of inspiration, after looking at a local retailer for a crate, laundry basket, luggage, I remembered that I have a Schwinn trike basket around here some place. I think it's the perfect size, light, and weather poof......I just have to find it, I remember seeing it around here last summer. I have to much stuff. It's around here somewhere.

Big Update:

Been riding the Spree for quick errands, it's intended purpose. Have noticed the gas lasting longer in my little pick up so the Spree is saving me gas!!

It's a total blast to ride, started snowing on me today which is way cool.
I've got a few little things, but it's built till warmer I think.
