2001 sr 50 needs a face lift

Post by Simonsr50 »

Ok so I have a 2001 sr 50 that ive have now for over a year. I have added a keli variator, 1k grabber springs, airbox mod with bigger main jet, and I think that's it. Im looking for some more tested and tuned mods. I want to keep 50cc, and I do not want an exhaust. I'm thinking more like different style weights (harder)? Higher grabber springs? different gears? Different clutch parts? Cdi box upgrades? I'm looking for just a little more accel and just a little more top end. But would rather accel if one or the other? Please let me know what yah think and where I can get parts. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I've got a stock elite sr50 w/new stock exhaust, air box is opened up and jet is #78 w/ after market variator. Runs very well, good compression, so I installed 9.8 to 1 secondary gears and added 1.5k grabbers/1.5k torque spring which really helped the take off. This scooter hits 50 mph on a flat run. :surprise: I'm happy with it. Basically, the 10 to 1's are as far as I want to go with this. Don't want to loose any take off power by going to lower gears. This is just for my store runs and errands. Still good on gas! maybe 40 mpg? Oh, 2 capfuls of oil in gas tank on a fill-up just to be safe. Happy Trails!

ok I just started doing research on a ZX trans cause I had no clue what it was. any chance you can guide me to a place where I can get all the parts I need, or be specific as to what parts I need to complete it.
