SB50p questions!

Post by bjdipert269 »

I was wondering how to get a little more speed out of my 89 elite. The muffler is derestricted and it has an aftermarket CDI and coil. I was curious about clutch springs and tension springs and variator weights. I am new to this so i would appreciate any input. Thx everybody.

the sb50 has no variator or aftermarket clutch springs.

The sb50 is basically just a spree engine

bbk and gears are available from TAZ
new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight

bjdipert269 welcome to the foums :hi:
the sb50's that were sold in the usa didn't come with variators
so that limits choices for those wanting to chase after higher mph ratings
a big bore kit (bbk) and gears will help you get a few more mph

others have gone the route of transplanting the SA50 engine into the SB50 frame
this engine swap isn't a quick bolt in but the effort is well worth it since
the SB50 engines have a lot of aftermarket go fast goodies

You can bolt on an sb50 top end and pipe for a 5 mph increase.
