So what would it cost to buy a stock crank, 8.4:1 gears and pay you to swap them out?

Or alternatively, what would it be to just buy and have you switch to a stock crank? (I know it might not be perfect set-up with the current gearing but if it doesn't really affect reliability, I'm OK with a slower start).

A new stock crank from honda???? No idea

I have seen good used ones here for $50-$100

I have one that I will trade for your ministroke crank.

Gears are about $50 add a gasket to that $15 I charge $10 to press the new ones

If you are staying with the polini bore 7.5:1 are fine top speed should be around 60-65 mph 0-15 mph is like a stock scooter but after about 6k
rpms the polini power kicks in.

I would charge $100 to split the case, open up the intake and install the stock crank.

547 feet was the elevation no the distance.

It was fast.....not as fast as mine but it was quick.

I took the bore off and confirmed what I suspected.

Thats a ministroker alright.

I also discovered this :surprise:

What kind of application would a stroker crank be good with? Just guessing based on your previous comments that it's probably best used with stock bore, correct?

I found new Honda cranks for $172.95+shipping. It might be wasting $75 but I'm tempted to buy the new crank and have you install that and leave the other stuff alone (and keep the ministroker crank for another who knows what/when project...).

And regarding the second picture (the uh-oh or oh crap pic that's going to require some fixing), how much for that?

Thanks!!!!

You can search around for a better deal on the stock crank than that. you can get a reinforced crank for less than 100 bucks new with seals and bearrings on ebay. If you are gonna spend money think about a malossi crank :D Everyone loves polini but you COULD consider a ministroker bore that you might be able to get for less than 150 including piston head everything you need to rebuild the top OR since you have all the other stuff you can get the 80cc bore kit from autotech with a v8 pipe for around 250 LOTS of options :P

Oh man, now the wheels are really turning in my head!

What search words would I use on eBay to find a reinforced crank and any recommendations?

Any details on Malossi crank - part number or recommendation on what's good?

Regarding the 80cc bore from Autotech (that would allow me to keep the ministroker), would I HAVE to use the v8 pipe? I need quiet in my neighborhood (and also for my wife to allow it).

At the same time, although I LOVE aftermarket parts and all that, ultimately I'd really like the following:
1. Reasonably fast (50 to 55 mph)
2. Good on gas (makes me think to stick with current gearing although I'd be sacrificing some off the line speed)
3. Not make much more noise than a stock scooter
4. Super reliable for long term use

What would be the list for achieving this combination of requirements? Please give details and $$'s if you know for sure.

Thanks!

The ministroker works good with a 50mm bore.
Not so great with a stock bore.

The flange on the polini bore still holds the exhaust stud. So its not really a big problem, unless it breaks more

The 50mm bore(82cc) does not need the v8 pipe...but the stock pipe would really not be ideal. IMO

Using the stock exhaust does not mean a quiet scooter

As long as you use an aftermarket carb , the intake noise can equal the exhaust noise.

If you want to keep the mini stroker, I would just buy a used bottom end with stock crank. Think about the math, 175 for new crank plus 40 for bearings and seals if they can't be reused. Plus 100 for labor. That is $300. When/if you decide to do a ministroker later, that is another $100 for labor. So if you took that 400, you could buy a stock engine for the polini bore and a ministroke bore for your current bottom end.
