ES FTW. The ES has an improved version of the spree motor. Larger gas tank, under seat storage which locks and it is more comfortable to ride. The Spree advantages are a 10 pound weight savings, more durable panels, iconic name, and it is a little older so insurance/tags may be a little cheaper.

The ES uses a float lever mechanical fuel gauge so it is more reliable than the Spree electronic gauge. The electronic Spree gauge is easier to check while riding down the road.

Yeah, sometimes it's a pain to check but it's pretty reliable. mine still works and is original equipment. :thumbwink:
In the two posts above are the main pros and cons with the comparison between the two.
If you really want or need the lightest weight moped then go with the Spree.
I agree with the durable panels statement. The "arms" on the Elite E/ ES side panels are easily broken.

The Elite E/ES under seat storage is pretty generous and I use mine to keep my 'emergency tool' kit, moped cover, two stroke oil mix bottle, U-lock, heavy duty chain lock.
I like the styling of the Elite E/ES too, but that is personal preference. :imo:
but then again I think the Sym DD50s are not bad looking either
