Elite build bbk help

Post by HighSpeedDrift »

I have a 94 elite sr I recently installed 9.1-1 final gears and a keli vari. I want to make my scoot wheelie and do around 55 mph on flat road ( It does around 45 now). Im thinking my next buy will be 28mm oko carb; PG long pipe; 1500 rpm spring; and then there's the bbk im torn on. polini 72cc corsa or 90cc 50mm bore taiwan setup? Here's my questions.

1. Am I heading in right direction to attain my decent wheelie riding goal?
2. Anything else I should buy or not buy?
3. Which bbk would have better performance? (Taiwan bbk is the 90cc kit autotech has on ebay)

Thats what I was leaning towards, but the price of the 90cc kit is SOOOO much more attractive. Also, I was thinking if I port and polish everything maybe it could be better. But you may have me conviced I guess I'm just going to break the bank and go corsa. I just hate how daywot has it for about $350. That's over 3x what I paid for the whole scooter!

I like how the shipping is even more on the corsa.

Is there a good alternative anywhere else?

I purchased a 72cc cast iron bore kit from a gentleman here and I've been more than satisfied
with the quality, performance and service/price. Look here and then compare; http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... =2&t=19538

There are others here that would offer good feedback about these performance parts.
Good deals on quality parts are hard to come by and I wish you the best as you search for your
parts. Yes, you will need to enlarge the boost port in your cases but that is easily done.

Happy Trails! :peace:

Greetings:

RedEftPerformance on this Forum carries Malossi Arn and MHR 72cc kits for less than the Corsa. Could be worth a PM to him?

What was your speed before you installed the 9.1-1 final gears and the keli variator? My bone stock '87 SE50 Elite, with windscreen, is currently doing a GPS indicated 39.4 mph on a flat road. I'd actually be quite happy with increasing that to 45 mph as the scoot is so light in the front end that even the stock 49cc engine has me pulling wheelies without even trying. At 55 mph, I'd be totally out of control and a highway statistic. At 45 mph max I could keep up with the local 40 mph posted speed limit and even have a few mph in reserve. Thanks!

Before the vari and gear set it did around 38 cold. Once it got good and hot the the needle would sit right on 35. I don't have gps so I'm going by what my speeddo reads, as well as my friends' riding with me. And im using 9gram rollers. Could be quicker with some lighter ones, I believe. Also, if I had a bigger jet. Its runnning on the lean side right now. Once I hit downhill it jumps to about 55mph and sustains it until i start uphill but i have taken it around 60 before down a steep 1.5 mile hill. I'm confident the gear is good for 65+. I live in a mountain region so I need the extra gearing and power to make it over hills. 25 is avg speed now when going uphill. but its a real laugh when I start going down hill and pass the car who was making fun of me trying to make it up the hill. Then really smoking them in the turns lol. I swear riding my Elite is just as fun riding my R1 :peace: . Sorry for rambling lol.

You will need an 8.44:1 or lower so you won't over rev an engine like 72cc's.
9:1's will be too high of gear on a bbk in my opinion.
Did you check with redeftperformance? I recommend the Malossi kit.

Im going for more lower end for uphills and wheelies and only 55mph. More is cool but I really want that low end. thats Why I decided to go with 9-1. And it works great with stock setup. I did check the link you included, haven't spoken with him about it yet, however. The price is remarkable in comparison to the corsas I have found. It will be a couple weeks until I can afford all the parts. I would like to get them all at once so I can install them at the same time. Thanks for the help!! That malossi is a big turn on!! I think I've got a chubby...

Yea, the stocker will do that. I run 10:1's in mine. Perfect, it's old and worn out. Those malossi parts are an incredible deal! I love my 72's and super fast shipped to me, every time. The cranks are the best for stock stroke too. Good luck with the build! Look forward to your future threads.
