2001 elite sa50 Air box mod help??

2001 elite sa50 Air box mod help??

Hey Guys, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for 2001 elite sa50 Performance parts site or has Modified OEM air box for sufficient air intake, to jetted carb and piston upgrade kit?? tends to choke out of air box cover is on, but runs like a beast without cover, just too loud... Suggestions/ ideas please, Thanks!!

If it runs good without the box... maybe try getting a pod filter? It could possibly be a little quieter with the pod filter and the ones I have had on other bikes do not really restrict your air like the stock box. The uni filters look like they could muffle some sound, too ;But I have no experience with them. If that doesn't make it quieter then you may just have to deal with it. Surely it's not THAT much louder is it? Or do you just like with the way the stock box looks and don't want to get rid of it?

you risk seizing the motor without the stock airbox on with a stock carb. the fixed pilot jet is to small. so never recommend putting a pod on a stock carb.

what was done to the motor for it to now not run good with the airbox cover on?

Who said he had a stock bike? Sorry, I thought he said he had a bigger jet and and a piston kit.... :hi: and then again * do I know I'm just a guy who works at a motorcycle shop...

why not cut out the front area of the stock air box? You can make it look like this real easy.
