I picked up an 87 aero, and i've got some questions
1: I only have the back half of the air box. Am I best off buying the air box cover or is there a better alternative like a pod filter.
2:what is going to be the least expensive, most effective modifications I can make to get more power? (Im most interested in low end power)
just got an 87 aero, time to modify!

Re: just got an 87 aero, time to modify!
Greetings:
The stock Aero manifold points your carb squarely at the shock, so any Pod you install will need an angled pipe to clear it. I used a modified 45-degree PVC plumbing fitting early in my Aerophilic career. (Flash I).
If you can get an airbox cover, I recommend you do that instead. The power gained from a pod is negligible.
Low-end power is best - and arguably, most easily - achieved with the installation of a big-bore top end. Your speed won't improve by much, but 65ccs will launch stock gears very smartly.

it does also have custom arrow exhaust, looks like a previous owner welded it to fit, i believe it makes the power band in the higher speeds, (i raced it head to head with my brothers stock 86 aero and they were close until we came upon a hill and i pulled away drastically.)
what bbk would you recommend?
where should i begin to look for an airbox cover?
if i can't find one, what pods should i get?

Make a WTB ad for the airbox lid in the forum. I would do a plug chop to make sure your Aero is properly jettew for your Arrow (sounds like a gold standard pipe).

When you get an air filter lid, make sure that the large rubber "o-ring" is still inside of that back half of the air filter box. This "o-ring" isn't truly a round ring, but it basically sits within a "channel" that's around the outer edge of the back half of the filter box. It;s job is to seal the two air box "halves" when closed upon each other.
