Post by Ewestfall »

Possible? where to start... Tried the stocks, tried the 9 grams that came with pully. I also have a whole set of weights 3-14g 3 of each I understand the mix and match yadda... I know it's trial and error I know it depends on weight I know it depends on riding style... I need a better start point... Ty

the 9's would be a good starting point if the center spring is a 1k. what did it feel like with the 9's in? is the compression up to spec? is the exhaust port on the bore clean of carbon? if the compression is low or carbon is caked in the exhaust port or both, all the trans tuning is not going to do anything better.

Ty for the quick reply. It revs high rpm but does not have that "grab". Everything else is up to par.
Guess I'll stagger now go 9-8-9-8-9-8 down etc or go up? Down right...
To many projects at once lol
Just scored a af16 block covered in grime... Just cleaned that up... Keeps me busy lol. Any other tips

Well that right there tells you if its reving high and not grabing what direction to go. If its a bran new clutch in there, you need to tune that first and make sure all the clutch pads are contacting the clutch bell. If the the whole clutch pad on each arm is not grabbing then you need to sand the high dark spots till the whole pad is grabbing. If not playing with the rollers are just wasting your time due to the clutch slipping. Once you get all the clutch pads to be grabbing , then play with the rollers.

Basic principle with rollers: heavier rollers = slower acceleration, slower up hills. 7 grams is about the lightest for normal ops, 9 grams the heaviest. This only applies to Honda AF16/18. Yamahas, etc are totally different.
