My first scoot kill story.

Post by dv/dt »

I live in Minneapolis, only a mile or so from the sprawling campus of the University of Minnesota. I see a LOT of scooters parked around the area, but i never end up at stoplights with them.

Anyway, today i was riding the elite around with my buddy who was on his modded Rattler 110. There is a red light ahead of us and i see a lone scoot in the left lane. Its a ruckus! I pull up next to the guy "Hey man is that a Ruckus? I really like those scoots." Him "yea it is and thanks, i like it." Me "Thats a 4 stroke right?" Him "Yup, it is."

Then the conversation stops because the cross street light has turned yellow, and we all know what that means! Our light flips green and that ruckus gives it all she's got. The dude had a great reaction time because he probably pulled a whole 5 feet on me before the elite got on the pipe and flewwwwwww past him. The elite and the rattler predictably destroyed the ruckus by many many many scoot lengths.

Anyway, it was dumb and really fun. 2 strokes! :coolcruise:

I love it

that is so much fun even more when its some guy who thinks his car is fast and after 3 or 4 sets of lights he then gives up :peace:

It was dumb but at least you're honest enough to admit it. When you crash and burn like I did last October and spend 17 days in the hospital and a rehab facility you'll probably rethink the "fun" part. All I can say is grow up before it's too late. :imo:

All things in moderation, I say.... :thumbwink:
....a little daring sometimes...maybe even dumb....but @ dv/dt...way to go man, I know how it feels.
I'm sure you understand the risks involved. My understanding is that the risk starts when you turn the key.

+1

As long as the posted speed limit was not exceeded, I see no problem with a little stop light racing. :imo:

Yea, i know. Stock clutch and center springs arent the best combo for a great launch! I'll remedy that someday. :coolcruise:
