New spree .. Electrical
Got it all running today bought a few parts along with a new battery... I was having power issues earlier in the day and decided to just go buy a new battery.. Well i installed it after i got home (after Charging it) and im having the same problems.. Its will not stay charged.. It started the bike twice then i never had power after that... i have yet been able to start it.. If i jump it throught my golfcart battery everything works.. Also when the battery is on the charger every thing is fine.. But something in lower motor seems to get a little hot while on the charger...None of my lamps work while im running the scooter but as soon as i put it on the charger its fine.... And it will not start even on the charger.. Just trys to crank the dies...Sorry for the long post just trying to explain

BATTERY PROBLEMS
THE SPREE HAS A MAGNETO SYSTEM AND WILL RUN WITH NO BATTERY AT ALL. OF COURSE, YOU MUST KICKSTART. AT IDLE WITH NO BATTERY, THE LIGHTS AND HORN WILL BARELY WORK AT ALL.
THE SPREE ALSO HAS A BATTERY WHICH IS PRIMARILY USED TO SUPPORT THE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS & HORN AT LOW SPEEDS, WHEN CURRENT FROM THE MAGNETO IS INSUFFICIENT TO POWER ALL THE ACCESSORIES.
THE SPREE HAS ALTERNATOR COILS WHICH SEND CURRENT TO THE RECTIFIER/REGULATOR AND THEN ON TO THE BATTERY TO KEEP THE BATTERY CHARGED WHEN RUNNING. WHEN RUNNING, THE VOLTAGE ACROSS THE BATTERY TERMINALS SHOULD BE 13V AT LEAST. HIGHER YOU REV THE MOTOR, THE HIGHER THE VOLTAGE , SHOULD GO UP TO AROUND 14.5 V.
IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE, YOU MAY HAVE A DEAD RECTIFIER. HONDA ELECTRICS ARE FIRST RATE, BUT NOT INFALLIBLE.
IF YOUR BATTERY WONT HOLD A CHARGE WHILE HOOKED UP, THERE IS NO DOUBT YOU HAVE A DEAD SHORT SOMEWHERE. LOOK FOR SOMETHING MELTED OR SHOWING SIGNS OF BEING HOT.

You've got a short. Get an ammeter and connect it in series with the battery, I'm betting you have about a .5 - 2 Amp drawdown, which it will show. A similar wattage 12V lightbulb will work in a pinch, and will light up.
Once you've done this, start disconnecting things with the key off until the light goes out or current drop stops. This will locate your problem. I'd start with that black box and starter that are getting warm during charging.
