valve stem

Post by cdg1984 »

Is there some kind of adapter for our scooter wheels valve stems. I tried to air up the tires with a gas station air pump, and it wouldnt fit. Then I tried a home bicycle pump, and it wouldnt fit either. The problem is that the head of the pump wont fit between the valve stem and spoke part of the rim. Make sense?

You need 90┬░ valve stems that stick out to the side. All the tubes I get are requested this way and on my tubeless tires I have the 90┬░ stems.

Yeah, but I dont really want to buy new tubes if I dont have to. I can probably just find a smaller air pump...I hope

Would this work for you?

or

I used something like the ones from amazon when I had my spree.

That valve stem is for a tubeless rim. Sometimes those air chucks hit the him before you can get the correct seal on the valve stem, check the angle.

I had a similar problem with tubes on my elite when I replaced them both. The 90 degree valve stems are challenging to fit, then I also discovered another pitfall - if the tubes are fitted with the valve stems facing the left side of the bike, the rear tube stem is near impossible to access (on my elite anyway). Guess when I found out... :eyeroll: If you're replacing tubes with 90 degree stems, make sure they're both facing the right side of your scoot
