Riding along...then just dieing...

So, update...i got a working petcock valve and a professional to help me with idle speed. I rode it (my 1985 honda spree) home from the shop. Several hours later I was riding to work. About 5 miles in, after it working perfectly, I suddenly lost all power and it died. It would crank, turn, but not start. My rear light is on but my heaflight is not when the key is in the on position. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And according to my gas guage I have a gas level right up above the red zone. It also has oil. What the heck?

your headlight will not be on til it is running, it is ran by the stator. did you clean the carb at all? sounds maybe a chunk of somthing in the carb. will it restart?

I cleaned carb n thats why I had to seek help for idle speed. It will not restart

I take it back. After it sitting for 3 hours it starts now with a little throttle help! WHAT THE HECK

sounds a little rich maybe? what does the plug look like? do you have the air filter in place? cleaned and oiled?
