Better gas mileage

Post by Tdbmx101 »

Is there a way to get better gas mileage on my spree? I live about 15 miles from town and by the time im done riding i need to fill up. I get about 30-40 miles on a tank, which is not the greatest. Im only 120lbs and i have checked for leaks but i have saw none.
And i am also losing gas overnight not much but i have been noticing it a little. please help it only takes a buck and a half to fill it up but it is really making me mad taking trips to the gas station. everyday!

It's a .66 gallon tank so at best if you run it dry you will get 60 miles to the tank. If you are like me I never let it run dry. Oh and I weigh in at just under 295#.

You need to check you mile by filling the tank, record the mileage, ride it and when you fill up record the gallons and mileage. Do this for several tanks and then average you mileage. I will bet it is close to 100 mpg. If it is as low as 80 mpg then you have a problem.

Either the gauge is bad, sender is bad or the gauge wiring is screwed up. It tells you how to test it in the service manual.
