Tested the spree performance muffler

Post by tazland001 »

So I tested that spree muffler I just bought and d*** that really works. I was actually very surprised with the results. It gained an easy 6-7mph on the top end. My son runs the 48mm with a 24mm crab. He would hit about 37-38mph. Put the pipe on and he buried the speedo. I got on it and it buried the speedo. I am very impressed for a change.

How does the rest of the rpm range respond? Is this going to be usable as a daily rider or just a race pipe?

No force you were not lying. It really does work. :thumbwink:

Actually the pipe is not that loud at all. If you compare it to a the dio performance pipes it would be considered quit. lol

And yes ghost this would be the pipe we talked about. Thanks again for the info :)

I would not hesitate to use this for a daily rider.

Well as far as the bend close to the exhaust manifold it does not hinder performance so that is no longer an issue.

I am not sure on the RPM's but I can tell you this pipe is tuned for the spree and works very well on the mid and top.

I have not tested this on a stock engine but like force said it works. On the 41mm stock jug I am sure it would loose bottom end but would hit hard on the mid and top.

That's one plus to a side bleed pipe. They tend to be quieter than normal exhaust.

thanks abreen89
i didnt know he started selling a 24mm carb until last night.
i didnt see any updates from taz so i figured he maintained the 21mm carb.

i'll be sure to buy it soon but we'll see...im having the hardest time tuning the spree with this 21mm carb.
it's killing me

ah is that how it works? lol
i didn't know much and just bought the parts from taz but seeing as how you said it's harder to tune bigger carbs, we'll see...

and sorry taz, i wasn't hijacking your thread

if i can get this 21mm carb tuned, i'll be so happy. and get confidence to maybe buy the 24mm carb (:
