Douse it with WD40 and see if that helps. Mine sticks sometimes, but usually b/c it hasn't been ridden in awhile.

i had a problem with some petcocks i picked up, a few were stuck closed, and i tried the method noiseguy suggested, gasoline in a large jar, and it worked like a charm, better than wd-40 for me at least, and seemingly much safer for it, seeing as how that's what the petcock was made to run through it; gas

shouldn't be petcock, tried to run it with vaccume line plugged and a vaccume pump on petcock, but it was still a no-go. and it isnt plugged up at the petcock either.

Ive looked around on forums and it seems like it is running lean.

may sound like a dumb question, but did you take apart your carb and give it a good, thurough, cleaning?

ifthere is a tiny piece of debris floating around in your carb bowl, that could cause the problem. when the bike idles, the debris would float around the bowl, but when you throttle up, it would get sucked into the jet, causing blockage, and not allowing gas through.
could be the problem. ive seen it happen before. if that dosnt work, ill give you another troubleshoot.

yeah it happens.

also while you have it apart, check you float bowl gasket. make sure its all good. not dry and cracking, not pinched. ect. check your jets and the jet housing for cracks or debris.
