How fast are you willing to settle for? Young boys always seem to want to go as fast as they can... until they realize that top end speed is not always streetable. (I'm not inferring that you're a young boy, just a general statement).

What I'm saying is that you need to realize that a motor that is tuned for all out top end speed will have compromises on other issues (not that great gas mileage; etc.). My younger brother found that out the hard way; always looking to go faster ~ his moped already was going 45+ and not that loud (I like it not that loud. I like the sleeper look (less hassle from the popos). Then he started complaining... about the motor idles rough, about the moped getting less gas mileage. (Bigger carb = more fuel to burn).

Save your money and then buy what you can afford. There are a few good bbks out there. Polini bores are good. So are the MHR. http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... =4&t=13424

Gear kits to get? It depends on how fast you want to go and what is available with your budget. It also depends on your riding style, which is why not all setups will be the same on the same type of moped/scooter. You'll have to think about your riding style. Do you like to ride WOT (wide open throttle) all the time? or most of the time? <not much places to do that legally in Hawaii on a little moped, unless you're on Hawaii where they have a race track and the moped will be used mostly on the race track>.

Getting a larger carb is definitely on the list of upgrades along with a pipe that will handle the volume of the bbk that you will be running. Different pipes will have different sounds. Some will be louder than others. Running without a filter on your carb will also make your moped louder.

The thing about loud mopeds in Hawaii is that you'll definitely get noticed more (and this includes the law officers). You'll also have to realize that loud pipes also can cause deafness or hearing loss.

ahh i no worry about da cops cuz i live down country side and they goin hear um anyways cuz i when ride um last night and it was pretty loud auready and everything stock too. but i was thinking about it and getting one loud moped is good too cuz it make it so da cars can hear me near dem ah? i was gassing um all da way and it felt slow, so i know i like go faster then that! and watchu mean WOT like always gassing um all da way? if dat is then get some of dem kind roads down here that i can do that. and wat you think is better Polini Corsa or MHR Malossi Relpica for wat i am lookin for i still like some speed into my moped but good quality stuff dat wont break easy or fast. and the thing you said where da thing can make me deaf make me think to not make um the loudest but loud enough for cars and people to hear um, so still pretty dam loud lol

Theres plenty shops in oahu who can help you. If i were you i would get a cheap bore for your first time so you dont mess up the expensive italians. Get a nickle sil they cost 100 bucks. Spend your money on gears and a variator and possibly a carb/mani. Keep the stock pipe for now the carb will be plenty loud
