Gasket, Cylinder ( THink I do need it) Always replace gaskets, they are a one time use item, regardless of the guys that don't do it

Thanks allot Bear45-70 maybe that is why my moped wasn't running correctly because I didn't replace my cylinder gasket.I think there was a leak. It start great on battery And one kick it will fire up. It does take off normal . I got 32mhp on it . It runs great but sound loud. will run good ounce hit 30mph but once you let go of the throttle the engine sound higher then when you are running on speed.

how do I measure my driven belt? What tools do I need to buy ?
bear45-70 what do you mean cylinder need boring? it look good to me. Also what is the best way or product to used to seal the gasket.
may be all I need to buy is all the gasket ,the piston rings and a belt .
Thanks . :peace:

Thanks . :peace:

I order all the parts through cheapcycleparts.com . Now I did make sure I put the correct year and the model of my elite. I shouldn't have a problem with wrong parts right?

Re: I Just can't believe it I get that junk working!!

Post by Duke250 »

Ok Some of you might have seen me posting that junk moped on there for sale and parts. Today I've starting to take it apart so I can post the parts on Ebay. Then I change my mind and tell myself I have to get you running. I took the engines of complete. What I found are . There was no cylinder Gasket on there , no rings on the piston, and no cylinder head gasket. I replace those missing parts. Used my old carb from my honda elite SA50P. After spenting couple hours putting the engines back together. I put some gas in the tank . Try kick starting and that thing just took off like a "JET" I forget to put it on stand when I was kick starting it .I was so happy . All It need now is a new battery, those panels, new tires and a muffler. My muffler have some big holes and that make it so loud .

NOW I HAVE THREE IN MY GARAGE .I THINK I AM GETTING ADDICTED

Also cheapcycleparts.com is really slow with shipping. I have oder couple parts for my elite SA50P since Friday and I am still haven't receive anything.

Ever hear of the service manual? They exist so this kind of information has a place to be written down. Image

OS would make it 39.25mm, original being 39mm and the 88-01 manual is the right one it will tell you the difference if any between the 88-93 and the 94-01 sa50

Thanks man really appreciate it . If I read it correctly I need a 38.90 mm piston . What does it mean when it says piston with A mark , B mark and No mark mean ?They all seems to have that 38.90mm . Since the one I have order was 0.25 , so I definitely don't need the 0.50 so it seems like I need to order the one that says Piston( STD). What does STD stand for ?Pease broth

STD means standard which would be 39mm (i guess technically a few tenths of a millimeter smaller to fit the 39mm bore) You generally buy oversized piston and rings when you have had the cylinder honed and bored over like .25 .50 .75. or 1mm It would probably be cheaper just to bore your STD cylinder to whichever oversized piston and rings you want to buy. Not sure about the A and B I think mousewheels answered your question on that. To know for sure why dont you call the Honda place you are ordering from and ask?
