What's a fair and reasonable starting price for a 1987 SE50 Elite with just under 1,600 original miles? It runs very well, has no mechanical issues, both tires are new, has a new battery and comes with original user's manual, Honda service manual, windshield, top case, front basket and a spare set of keys. With a Keli performance variator, it tops out at a GPS recorded 42.5 mph. The paint is the original Honda red and the only minor flaws are (1) the floorboard was replaced with a salvaged floorboard which is a slightly different color than the original and (2) the left front turn signal had cracks which have been epoxy welded. I'm thinking of starting at $695. Too high or too low? TIA,
If it has no mechanical issues and it has new tires; that's a good starting price IMO.
Unsure of what your current local market is for this but perusing through the seattle-tacoma craigslist shows a couple of moped/scooters that weren't as great for $500. A nice red Honda for $1200, so I think that's a good starting price.
Just ask yourself, "what is the lowest price that you'll accept for your moped/scooter"?
You don't want to be having 'seller's regrets' after selling it too inexpensively.
You should always post a bit higher in your ad then what you really want to sell it for,
this way you'll have room for bargaining. I do this and when I talk to people, I tell them, "If you really want it, I'll sell it to you for xxx" and prospective buyers will be happy knowing that you gave them a 'deal'

OK, I'll start at $750 and see what happens. It is a nice bike and I hate to part with it but I just bought a '83 Honda CT110 trail bike and I don't have room for both and my other rides. Anybody in the greater Seattle area interested in a super nice, low mileage (1,600) '87 SE50? It's going to be on CL by this time next week. Act now and save some $.
