Picked up my 1997 honda elite s!

Post by MySpree »

ok so yesterday i went to the powersports store by us and i picked up a 1997 honda elite s. its yellow has VERRY MINOR body damage like cracks here and there. first thing i did when i got it home was try to start it. didnt work. so i took the panals off ( after looking for the mounting places for ever!) and i took my air filter off and manually choked the engine my putting my hand over the intake, i held it there untill gas started to drip out the intake, the swiched my focus to the throttle gave it a little throttle pushed the button and it fired up like it never was parked, it this point it was wet outside so i didnt go fore a ride, so i started diassembling it more.took off the e at bucket the panals and alot of the stuff, cleaned it off, and cleaned the engine case ( mostly ). then i took it for a ride. it topped out at 25... sooo me being me brought it home grinded out the exaust restriction and put my aero hi speed pully kit on it ( temparary ) and went for a ride. i hit 25 and kept climbeing untill i was at 42-43 at this point i havent cleaned the carb yet. took it around town ( it was soooooooo quiet ) and then brought it home. it has so much accel i spin my tires ween i hit the trottle ( on wet asfault ) it still has the same old spark plug, and so im guessing itll be better with a new one. i found the aeros backfireing so thats fixed. but the elite is so nice. its nice and clean(er). th eonly things i need are new rear blinker lenses unless i can get them japan ones. and newreflectors for the glove box. i took em of and thee were holes! well yea when my did forst was it the first thing he said was, we have to repaint that. its canary yellow... BRIGHT yellow. so what should i do to it now... ( i dont want a stroker )

here are pics....

yeah you must be so upset.

but look at it this way. with a little work, and a lot of cash, yours could look like mine.

you can buy chromed covers. you dont need to get it chromed. but it probably wouldnt cost too much to get it chromed locally if you have a shop near you

the rims youd have to get chromed. but the break levers, and a lot of other trim parts are available chrome.
