'84 Spree....with kick start?

Post by BlueWeber »

So I am complete new to this forum and to the world of scooters as a whole, so stick with me.

I have been trying to do as much reading and research for my "new" honda spree I just picked up this week before tearing into it and getting her into tip top condition. The vin and registration tell me its an 84, but the only weird thing is the kickstart. Is this alteration going to change up all the work I will be doing, or is all going to be ok and I have no change to my plans on this engine cleaning?

Any pointers or advice would be LOVELY, this is literally my first project with an engine, so seriously ALL THE HELP would be greatly appreciated!

Speaking of luck - post a picture of the kickstarter side with carb. I recall a member one time found the Spree engine had already been swapped out for a variated AF05 (Aero50/early EliteSA50) - higher top speed, better takeoff.

Greetings:

The easiest way to distinguish the Spree from the Aero AF05 is the direction of the kickstarter swing: Backwards = SE/05. Forward = NQ05.
