With your lean issue, you won't have any top end and won't have near the full power from the engine. You should check the exhaust too. It probably matches the jet as a "p" model.

Are you referring to the carb and slide assembly?

Clean up your handlebar. The plastic throttle tube can catch on that if some dirt or rust is in there.

when it gets stuck, i can twist the throttle forward but it kinda spring to wide open, and if the cables are all hooked up, i can push the oil pump thing to idleing position i can feel the cable come unjammed

lol, for safety sake, while doing wheelies with your dumpster found elite SR, I would replace your throttle cable first with your $50. Next clean the carb and check the air filter, then check the belt and rollers and make sure those are good.

As they usually say on this forum, you gotta make sure its running well in "stock form" before you try modifying it. With the remaining money buy yourself a bicycle helmet, because you won't be able to afford a motorcycle helmet, but at least something to hold your skull together when you wipe out from a wheelie.
87 Honda Spree,
XX Yamaha YSR50
92 Yamaha Jog -> Stock.
05 Kymco Super 9-> My cruiser
xx Honda Gyro -> Man I gotta fix that.
98 Honda Elite S -> corsa, pg long, 24mm oko, ct chrome, ZX trans w/ ruckus variator, trailtech vapor gauges

IMO lighter weights and/or stiffer center springs would help.
Try it with just lighter weights first.

If you're going to try to salvage your throttle cable, get some decent lubricant like 3-in-one oil.

It doesn't cost that much less than $3; save the veggie oil for cooking.
Otherwise, if the throttle cable isn't working, buy one. You need to have a throttle cable that works well. ;)[/img]
