My point is that 7.3 gears do not exist for the honda elite.

16x30 primary gears are not 7.3:1 gears they are 6.5:1 ratio.

8.4:1 or 7.5:1 secondary gears are a good choice for the 78cc.

The custom pipe you are making, needs to not get in the way of the cooling plastics.

I figured that the cooling plastics were not needed and ditched them

hhahah it is an aircooled engine, you need those shrouds or you will overheat your engine. Have fun with that

You are confusing your terms. Quick refers to acceleration and lower numbered gears do not help that.

Fast is top end or speed and low numbered gears make you fast if you have the horsepower to pull those gears.

In drag racing quick is your Elapsed Time and MPH is how fast you cover the distance between the traps at the end of the 1/4 mile. The slowest guy, mph wise can actually win the race by being quicker, having a lower ET.

But in any case you have to have the horsepower to go fast or all the gears in the world will not make you fast.
I understand how drag racing works i race every weekend (not mopeds). and yes i understand now that they are 6.5-1 gear ratio gears. I was just meaning that i want to cruise at a high speed my takeoff isnt that important to me. i figured with a 78cc BBK i would be able to make the 6.5-1 gears work

Greetings:

The Nicasil 78cc has decent but not spectacular power. 6.5 gears will absolutely KILL the take-off and way-Way-WAY taller than the Nik can use. I recommend 8.4s for still-better-than-stock 50cc acceleration and about 55-60MPH top speed, assuming a good pipe and enough carb to support the ~9000 RPM the Nicasil seems to like. If you need faster, you'll need a Corsa or bigger Tai bore. The good news is that the Nicasil can only die if you run withOUT cooling shrouds. Don't do this.

Greetings:

If by "work" you mean "can I ride it?", then no they'll work fine. If by "fine" you mean a very slow take-off from 0-10 or so. Once the clutch fully engages and the engine spools up to its powerband, acceleration isn't a whole lot different from any other gear set, but that take-off will suck. The thing is, the gears are so much taller than you'll ever need (Unless you do all your riding downwind and/or downhill...) with that amount of power that you don't have to suffer so. Consider 8.4s as a much better setup all-around.

Those are 9.8:1
those are too short.

7.5:1 or 8.4:1 is what you need :imo:

if you only weigh 150, just keep the gears you have.

7.5 and 8.4 gears are only available in secondary sets
