Just got in from picking up this Jonway Robot 50cc yy50qt-21, has a few consmetic flaws but no big deal. Got her off CL after i talked the dude down to 75 bucks doesnt run since the guy took the valve cover off to adjust the valves said it would start spitting and sputtering over half throttle and lose power only going 20mph. It is a 2007 with only 290 miles on it :D should be an easy fix gotta make sure the valve clearance is right and get everything bolted back on etc and see if she cranks then go from there. Should be a fun project for resale :D

cute looking actually. is the front complete or is it missing a bigger mouth? Will it Transform into something else :smile:

:D I am digging the Robot decals for sure. It is missing this cage looking thing that covers the headlights. I think all the different brands of this scooter have the flat faces :P

well got the valves adjust back to spec and the cover back on etc compression was around 190 to 200 though i think it could have gone a little further. Had the worst time trying to figure out the wiring. the half of hte fuze wire was missing and my mom thought it hooked to the CDI 4 plug where one wire is missing though i think that wire is for the rev limited. I finally figured out it was supposed to connect to the positive terminal on the battery for the ignition switch. Took me forever to figure out that i was turning the ignition switch into the security lock position instead of the ON position thought my wiring was all messed up or the security system on it was messed up. May remove the alarm system all together since I figure if it goes out then the thing wont start. Charging the battery now so i can see if it is going to crank :D crossing my fingers lol

cranks easy with the electric start and kickstart :D Idles great but is sluggish and lacks power especially after 1/2 throttle. Once it is rolling it does sorta okay so i am gonna check the variator and clutch to make sure all that is good and go from there. Maybe the bystarter is bad causing it to be really rich? who knows lol with only 290 miles it has to be something simple that just went bad

PLan on cleaning the carb today and checking the intake manifold for cracks :D

Carb cleaned, it was actually pretty clean on the inside. Swapped bystarters from the elite and now the bogging and stummbling throttle response is gone for the most part :D I think i did pretty good for 75 dollars and 2 easy days of tinkering :D Now i gotta fix the airbox so i can get the k and n pod off there

Thanks man, yea I plan to flip it for a profit for sure :D Got the airbox fixed and back on top speed around 30-35mph I am gonna try 5g rollers tomorrow and see what that does since it is sorta slow on take off. Once I get it it straight I am gonna post it on CL for about 300 OBO

5g rollers improved the over all accel somewhat now I just gotta fine tune it and figure out a few mods. gotta figure out how to get the tachometer to work on it today. Tomorrow I am headed to the junk yard to salvage a few parts if i can find any, I know there is one china scooter sitting out there. If anyone needs anything let me know he has a bunch of Expresses, a jog, aero 50, 125 and a few elite 150 and 250s I think
