I suggest that you buy a roller tuning pack from Daywot. Find the sweet spot and then replace them with some good rollers.

Don't forget to have .050 shaved from the head. Adds compression and torque. A good 5 mph add.

Thanks for the heads up, so to speak. I'm thinking getting a different head so I can go back to stock if need be.
Where or how would you shave the head and how much? Sandpaper on a flat surface?

Have it machined. It needs to be flat. Dont try to DIY.

Got my Ruckus variator installed then discovered a flat tire. I will get that taken care of tomorrow and then I will take it for a ride and report back.

Went and got a new tube, as the one in there looked very old and nasty.

Finally got it back together, went for a ride. I have all 8 grams in the Ruckus variator, it is slow off the line, then gets up to about 30 up a slight long uphill, seems to cruise at about 35, pegs out at 45 downhill.

So, what's next? Heavier weights to get more top speed? Lighter weights to get quicker off the line? Clutch spring? Just put the LV on (and do I need to upset for that?) to see what that does? Lose 40 pounds?

Seems my performance decreased with the Ruckus variator from stock, but faster down a hill. Problem being, it seems to be uphill both ways every where I go around here.

Engine runs great, no problems there.

Any suggestions would be great.

why are you waiting to put the exhaust on? let me know how much of a perofmance increase it gives you. vs the stock pipe.

also where did you find a tube to fit that tire. every tire place i went to here in portland ( americas best, lesswab) said they could not find it. i finally broke down and filled it with fix a flat because i really wanted to ride my scooter.

I'm trying to do things a little at a time. I'd like to get the variator tune a bit better before changing out the pipe.

The tube is a 3.00x10, got it from a local scooter shop.

only problem with that is your tuning your variator for the stock exhaust when you put the new one on it may have a different rpm powerband which means you will have to retune the vari again :thumbwink:

maybe because my shops were looking for a 2.75 10 they coundt find it, but still id think they would have offered.

im not positive but from what i read your engine will act different with the pipe ( especially how quick it revs up) so once you change the pipe you will need to change your weights again.

this is second hand knowledge though, i don't have an aftermarket exhaust.

how much do you weight? im 220 and get about 35-38 on a wot cruise around town ( just a rukus variator upgrade)
i would suspect that with your 10:1 gears you would be faster than me.

hows your belt? my roommate who is upgrading his se50p swapped his bet out yesterday and i notice is being much more responsive off the line and a much smoother acceleration to top speed. not sure if it helped top speed though as his spedo is broken.

how are you measuring your speeds?

when im trying to increase my top downhill speed, i just find a bigger hill :coolcruise:

Looks like if I change the pipe I need to upjet to a 88 or 90. I need to get some jets from someplace before I change it out.

I tried all 6 gram sliders and didn't like the way it revved up and also the low top speed.

I work tomorrow so I don't think much is going to get done, Sunday and monday everything is closed. So I guess it doesn't get much work done over the next couple days.

Story of my life.
