Metrakit BBK

Post by curtis966 »

Hey guys I have an 85 aero 50 and I installed my metrakit BBK today every thing other than the stock head which waiting to get milled on Monday or tuseday. I have a few questions about tuning and such.

On my 85 aero 50 I have
Malossi wild lion pipe
90/90 rear tire
Ruckus variator with 6.3 polini rollers
And a 90 jet in my stock carb
Stock airbox wanna go with a pod.

First question do I need to up jet with the new BBK?

And what do I need to tell the guy I'm having mill my head? If anybody knows the process or what needs to be done. The guy doing it is a machine builder at a shop I work at.

Next I would really like put a pod filter on if I can. My stock airbox is a mess and I really like the look of the pod anyways. If I can do it? And what would I need?

Thanks for all responses in advance.

Yes the carb has to be tuned. If running stock carb I would recommend sticking with the stock airbox. I have Malossi heads instock that are meant for a BBK PM me if interested.

Don't mill your head unless you know exactly what you're doing. The milled amount depends on other variables such as the thickness of your cylinder and head gaskets. You can increase compression by simply using a thinner gaskets. We'd have to see your engine in person to give you a useful answer.Do you know anybody who races 2-stroke dirt bikes? They're pretty knowledgeable on this and can give good advice.
