I am doing a full engine rebuild and today went to put the head back on. I put the gasket in place and it looked good to me, so I went and bolted the head on. I noticed today there is a tab that sticks out on one side and a missing tab on the other. Here's two pictures that describe it a lot better:

The problem is I'm using a chinese clone gasket on an 85' Elite 150. Everything else seems to be sealed fine. Should I compression test it and go ahead and use it if it's okay?
