trying to find a past post

Post by Beansdaddy09 »

hello i want to dremel the top of the head off right now, got my dremel in hand. i cannot find the original post that got me to order an extra top of the head so i can try to do it without risking ruining my motor. figure i can do the one and swap them out quick and see if it makes a difference or if i screwed up and if thats the case ill toss the old one back on and put my dremel away for good.

if anybody can help me out id really appreciate it, i posted a few days ago asking the same i think but i just cannot find the post.

what is the problem with doing it when i already bought an extra so that if i mess it up i can just put the original back on and recycle the one i dremeled. is there a very high chance that if i do it to an extra part and put it on for one test to see if it worked that it would completely ruin the rest of the motor to where even putting one that i have not taken the dremel (original stock part) to back on? i paid $8 plus shipping for the part so if it gets ruined i dont care, cause this is exactly why i bought it.

what is the ultimate threat of doing this CBR1000RR, please dont think im trying to be a smarta$& i seriously am asking so that i know and i wont be thinking about it constantly, cause if there is not chance that its going to ruin the rest of the motor then i want to do it and dont care if the piece gets ruined ill just put the stock one back on

I don't know if he is trying to reshape the chamber or if he is decking the head. If he is decking the head, he will easily cause engine damage with a dremel. Taking off too much material will result in the piston hitting the head or compression being too high and blowing it up...

On top of that he will never get it flat again if he cuts it with a dremel.
