When you cleaned your carb did you unscrew the main jet and made sure you could see light through the little holes?

I give up! I ordered a rebuilt carb. But just for my records, what do you set your idel screw at? And what do you set your fuel/mixture screw at? How many turns out after you screw them in all the way.

air screw out 1 1/2 to 1 7/8 out from closed position.
idle screw is set so when your bike is on its kickstand its reving high enough but not high enough to turn your rear wheel. I look to see when my rear wheel just begins to turn and then back off just a little bit.

To the members:

Just want to thank everyone for the advice and help with my Spree. Using all the advice and I am sure I will have it running shortly. End of the week I hope. It is still in the idle stages but what the heck. The lady wanted $300.00 I said $100. I looked again, saw rust on the gas cap and said give me Twenty Five Bucks and I'll take it to the dump for you. So I got the ped and $25.00. Great deal considering I now know I can fix it for way under the $300.00 she wanted. Probably for the $100.00 I wanted to pay.

Great Forun here. I'll let everyone know how it is going. I learned a lot.

Hey there

Couple of last questions.

1. Where is the gas line filter and how do I remove it?

2. When replacing the throttle into the barrel I noticed two slots both of which will slide over a stop in the barrel. Which slot do you slide over the stop?

3. Where is the best place to buy reconditioned or new parts. The Honda Dealer in my area does not carry parts for the Spree and doesn't want to order them.

Any help is appreciated.

Filter is located in the tank under the petcock. If you can't get it to drop out, just make sure it's not blocked.

On the carb, the slanted part of the slide faces rearward toward the filter.

Several guys here have parts, or email Greg at uspmale@yahoo.com. See the for sale board.

Anyone know the laws in Massachusetts for scotters under 50cc.

Finally got my Spree running for under $100.00. Like most suggested it was the carb. I rebuilt the one I have and cleaned it several time but no go.

I ordered a rebuilt cleaned from Jay Stewart stewsjunk@comcast.net He reipps them apart cleans the and replace what needs to be replaced. Cost me $85.00 with several other items including shipping and he had it here in one day.

My Spree is doing 35 on the straigh away and small hills 30. Jay sets them up to factory specs at his shop. I would highly recommend him if you need a carb or anything else.

He also sells on ebay.

Hey, I going out for a scoot
