Measuring the crank shaft diameter would be undeniable proof as to which engine you have.

Remove the kickstart cover. The front shaft that the belt goes around is your crankshaft. Measure the diameter of the end of the shaft.

Greetings:
Don't overthink this, Dawgs. Yes some Japanese AF05s came with the split belt cover, but otherwise the most visible distinction is the exhaust flange. If it points straight ahead, it's a SA/16. If it angles to the right, it's a SE/05. Evidently your engine's been modified extensively either way, but unlikely the P.O. Could get swap a cylinder from one to the other. Bolt spacing is different.

Do i have to remove the starter sproket ???
And yes there is a bolt on the back part of the kick start cover...and i don't think that is stock airbox upon removal it was held on by zip ties

Re: noob wondering what i have
Neat you have an arrow pipe for an af05e, I also didn't know they had split covers for the kicker on some.

Re: noob wondering what i have
That is the circumference, the diameter is the distance straight across the shaft at its widest point:

Re: noob wondering what i have
I need to check my math because I get a 20mm diameter from a 2.5" circumference.
