I've got one of those Gyros, runs great, can hit the normal 32 mph on flat ground but I'm looking to get a bit more top speed out of her (like 40-45 mph) and I know the gearing on this thing is limited.
If there are any big bore kits and or carb setups that are known to work on the Gyro I'd like to know. I'm all for quality over cheapness and local vs. over seas.
Some of you may have seen me out at the Block of Orange with the totalruckus guys on Tuesday nights....just started going last month. If you're out there say hi.
Peace,
Mike

So you cut out the baffle screens and dividers out? You also risk seizing the motor by running a uni on a stock carb. The stock carb has a fixed pilot jet which leans the carb out at less than 1/2 throttle when switching to a uni.

Zero help. Is this how this forum works?
Then go ahead and blow you motor up. It obvious you know nothing about 2 stroke engines.

Thanks guys.

PM Tazland, see if he can help you. That youtube video you posted is mine, glad you could find it. I used a polini X5 pipe from a dirt bike the pipe cost me 50.00 (ebay) then I welded up to fit the spree and it was great. I later shaved the head down until I had 175psi of compression it ran amazing then I sold it. The guy still swings by my house from time to time on it and loves it. Many would not recommend this much pressure, but I was willing to see what would happen.
Good luck,
Evan
P.s. The guys on here are very willing to help, but they don't spoon feed. Hang out, read some more you will learn a ton. Not many of us have those gyros they are uncommon, and the chicks dig them.

Hey mikeon3r: Don't be misled by bakaracer's reply...I think he was confused and posted on the wrong thread. It didn't make sense.
Anyway, gyro has been overlooked by the money-making aftermarket parts makers.
There are just not enough of them for a market.
I am one of the gyro(TG50M '85) owners here, and i have done nothing to hop-up mine, but I still race it in a minimotard club.
The second generation gyro is far better frame than the first, but those little red and blue ones ARE cute.
By all means, poke the taz-man(tazland001) and quiz his little mind about it. He does have a trick or two he can share.
Glad to have your snooping around and sharing your adventures.
Somewhere in Wikispreedia there is a dedicated gyro page...

Motormike- no confusion here. If he wants to act like that and no listen. He will learn the hard way. They do. If he new , he wouldnt have gut that pipe like it was a 4 stroke pipe and added a uni to a non adjustable pilot jet carb.

He took the pic off of what he did to the pipe and edited his post and took off what was done.
