af18 [Ed: Won't Fire, Spitting Oil]

hi, i just put a new polini bore on my af18 amd followed the instructions to put it on, but it just wont fire up dont matter how many times i kick it. can anybody tell me what could be the problem and also oil is like spitting out of the back of the head onto my tire?

could be the coil, spark plug

If its spitting out oil out the back of the head I would assume you need to retorque your studs. No compression it wont fire.

I suggest you look no farther. That's a problem don'cha think?
The ugliest chore in engine assembly is cleaning up the old gasket material completely and withOUT gouging or marring the mating surfaces. You should be able to eat off the resulting surface. Methinks you didn't pay enough attention to the base gasket. The Polini O-Ring could have slipped out of its groove on assembly too. If so, don't even bother reassembliing until you procure a new one, even if yours is only kinked.

I suppose at this poin there's not much harm in simply "re-torquing" the head bolts, but chance for success is less than 5%, and there is real danger in running the engine with an imperfect seal. Could turn that shiny Eye-Talian hardware into so much scrap real quick. I recommend you take it apart again, have a look and fix this. Then do a Compression Test on the reassembled top end before going any farther reinstalling the engine.

Dude, he said it's never fired yet it's spitting oil out the back of the shroud! Checking reeds, re-torquing bolts and checking for spark isn't likely to solve that. It needs to be disassembled and inspected and corrected, then compression double-checked. Nothing less is likely to help. THEN make sure the reeds and plugs are working. Sheesh! I feel more Bear-like today. Where's my Lithium?
