AF16 2nd gear start remedy?????? IDEAS,,......
ill cut to the chase. 2001 elite sr with corsa, 21mm oko, ct mani, pg long, 9.8 gears ( I like to drag race soon comments about gears please), 1500 center, 2k grabbers, keli vari. I also have a ZX trans setup that I'm not happy with. The problem is this setup makes power at like 7k and up so I need to engage pretty high as you know. In doing so before the clutch even grabs the CVT is already shifting so its like its taking off in 2nd - 3rd gear. I tried a SEF ramp which helped a little and I also just bought a different torque driver for the ZX setup with different angles and that didn't help either. I need something that will hold back shift for a little longer and then shift out normally once the engine is in higher RPM. PLEASE HELP

Greetings:
Dropping a half-gram per roller may be all that is needed. Longer 669 belt can also help take-off.

I appreciate the reply but I don't want to change weights or spring combo because my WOT rom is exactly where I want it. I need some way to hold a high rpm off the line so the pulleys don't shift right away. The torque driver I bought was supposed to help but it appears someone just made the toque driver without any research behind it.

Greetings:
The shapes of the variator roller slots play a role in when they first start to migrate.
A "for Ruckus" variator and steeper plate - More than 25 degrees - might help. Lower clutch engagement speed with 669 belt will keep take-off the same. With 9.8s it should be a take-off monster once it's tuned, but 55 is the predicted top speed.

Put a washer between the boss and ramp= pull one off a spark plug, this will bottom out the belt giving you extra stall, also combo your weights 7.5 x 9.5= 8.5
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!
