My DD-50

Post by solitaire1 »

Well here goes for my first post

SYM DD-50

Contessa bore
Stock crb/manifold
Kelli variator and ramp
Stock belt and clutch
10% center spring
1000 rpm clutch springs
28mm V8 pipe
7.9 gears
The variator weights vary between 8 grams down to 7's

Just wondering what everyone thinks of this so far. It runs great so far and can almost completly bottom out the speedo. Just decieding what to upgrade next.

Should I go and get a carb set up or would doing suspension work be better ?

If you like how it runs and its running good. Leave it alone. If your wanting more power, upgrade to a corsa or mhr. Then upgrade the carb and mani and exhaust.

Just looking for more power/responsiveness in my mid. Later later on switching to a corsa. After that gonna look for some exotic pipe.

Is there a big difference between 24,26, and 28 ? Most people here say go with a CT manifold and 28 OKO Carb. What differences could I expect to see between Carb sizes and manifold brands?

Throttle response and tuneabilty. It aslo depends on what type of riding your doing. If your going to be wot pretty much everytime you ride then a 28mm carb. If its stop and go city riding then a 24mm or smaller.if you already have a 28 carb then just use that.

24 mm burn less fuel and less noise. 28mm burn gas more and loud.
