the sticker thing carried on to my helmet.........
might have to remove the stickers from the scooter soon because my insurance company are saying its a pernament modification and that itll cost me a extra £100 per year insurance with them on.

Man are they crazy for saying stickers will cost you that much more insurance. They are cracked in the skulls. I'd be shopping for another insurance company, if you can. Does the government supply the insurance where you are or is there independent brokers.uk-visionsa50 wrote:the sticker thing carried on to my helmet.........

Re: stickers, like or dislike ?
its all independent brokers over here, my insurance bill per year is already £3400 for all three of my bikes to be covered, im looking around now for a better quote but if i want to cancel my policy i have to pay £105 cancellation fee and a £50 admin fee, wich is absolutely crazy, im trying to tell them that its not a pernament modification, there are no temporary or constant performace gains from stickers, its individual and if it gets stolen itll get recognised by the police easier and it wont come as a loss to them anyway as im only third party covered on this one, it has a tracking device, is ALWAYS locked up with some of the best locks around and only covers what 2000 miles per year at the most. if push comes to shove ill just remove the stickers for the inspection that they want to do, get a new set and reapply them afterwards, its gonna be cheaper than all the other outcomes.patthesoundguy wrote:Man are they crazy for saying stickers will cost you that much more insurance. Re: stickers, like or dislike ?
Holy moley... Did I read that right, 3400 pounds for insurance for a year on motorcycles? My spree and my express cost 180$ CDN 90$ each this past year, my van was $530. How in the heck does anybody drive with rates that high like you have. Could you just pull the plastics off of the scooter for the inspection and put them back after ? we have motor vehicle inspections here in Nova Scotia and people sometimes need to do things like that to have better lighting on their bikes, put stock stuff for inspection and aftermarket on afterwards.

Re: stickers, like or dislike ?
yes thats right ive since got rid of all 3 bikes and got a 98 derbi gpr 50 wich is now £985 per year, i wouldnt of been able to pull the panels off, they wanted to see body modifications as well as performance, the safety inspection over here is called a mot, lasts 12 months, believe it or not if i had a small 1000cc car with no modifications it would cost me over £6k per year, hence why i have bikes, they calculate the cost over here by age of the policy holder (im 17), the area the policy holder lives in (i live in a decent area) claims in the past (only 1 after a car hit me last year) occupation (im a apprentice mechanic) and a few other things like driving convictions and points on the licence. i have 6 points on my licence through no fault of my own, the insurance companies seem to think that every 17 year old is out to race etc, i just ride to get to and from places like work and the girlfriends.

Dude that is crazy nuts. I feel for ya. I just looked at the exchange rates you are paying 5300$ Canadian. I'm in shock, I knew stuff was more over there but not that bad. You must work your butt off.
