Good point swimmingfree too cold a plug would be a real pain. I had that problem with my express, I put a too cold plug in it and it would run fine and if I started it when it was kind of warm it would drive for about 60 seconds and it would die from a fouled plug and nothing but swapping the plug would make it start. Pain in the rear on the side of the road.

I am confused.... new plug is near the top of the list. We are at 4th page of posts and still talking about a 4 dollar plug that has not been changed.

Whatever.
I'm more than happy to explain it to you. I'll even draw you a picture! But I can't understand it for you.

The reason is I have $5.00 left, I borrowed the neighbor's

Fill it up. That costs around $3.00.
I am retired and I get paid a week from today.

I made a video, and I have 2 pics. How do I post them here.
Plus, we all know the spark plug is not why it is running lean.
As you have all said, I have a massive vaccuum leak.
In the past, with all small engines, I always replaced the
Spark plug, and sharpened the lawnmower blade.
I was short this month because I bought the thing for 375, and licensed
it for 88 dollars. Poor thing had not been licensed since 2007, and it was
From out of state. Right off the bat, I rebuilt the carb.
I could not afford the usual float, needle and seat, or fresh gaskets/o-rings.
Sorry I showed up here before putting the new stuff in. After payday, I will
Get the new things, including a crankshaft seal.

Thank you all.
Yes, a plug is a bare minimum with any engine not running well.
Wierd how it only runs with the air/fuel mixture screw out 1/2 a turn.
Then plug is white. 3/4 turn and plug turns black. Anything over
That and it will not start. First engine I ever saw that would not
Run with the air/fuel mixture screw out at least 1.5 turns.
new plug payday which is next monday for me.
Good point about the spark plug.
We are talking about a 2 stroke engine. The spark plug should have
been changed before anything.
Sorry, I must be gettin old, wait, I am old. Lol

Greetings:

There is a possibility that some previous owner has buggered the air screw's little needle or its seat in the bowl. Also, some carbs use a little o-ring around the screw. Check the parts fiche for your specific model and see if that's omitted on your carb. The adjustment window sounds way too touchy.
