Hey everyone! I am looking for primary gears for my motor. I have an af16e from a SA50 "S" but has been derestricted to basiacally being an "SR" so far i can reach around 50mph. With a variator, rollers, oil plug and yellow contra. But i would like to get gears for it so i have alot more speed off the line. Id be fine with getting the speed down to around 35mph if i can get there fast.
So i would like opinions on where to buy them from and what would be the best ratio to buy. Thanks in advance!!!
Also does anyone have a spare af16 air box they want to sell? Lmk
Off the line clutch grab is set by the clutch center spring + clutch springs, if you can afford the stage 6 clutch get it, use the harder springs that just drop in then dial it in with a allen wrench and you are set...
Stock ratio is 12:1. Are you saying you've seen 50MPH on those?
9:1 gears on a stock engine can see close to 50, but I do not believe the 12:1s will ever see 50.
Perhaps some previous owner has already installed 9s?
Everybody who wants gears is going taller. As far as I know, no one makes a ratio shorter than stock.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

I'm curious to know if you're really getting 50 mph on stock gearing. Might want to check your GPS :p
Vt cycles sells 9:1 gears for $50 or you can buy them from chopchop 123 (believe that's taz?) on eBay for $40
Thanks guys for all the info! Ill have to use a gps when it gets warm enough to start riding. Not trying to make anything up. Can someone show me a link to a stronger clutch. And will i need a different clutch bell.
