Newbie here

Post by garthtax »

Hi name is Gary from Fife in Scotland. Not sure if i have the right site As i know nothing about bikes. Just bought my son a Honda X8R 50cc Valentino Rossi. Very nice wee bike. So thought id head along to some forums as it is usually a good place to start when looking to gain some knowledge on these things. I am in to quads myself and am a member of a couple of quad forums. If im in the wrong place i apologise and may be you guys could point me in the right direction (not the door)

Welcome to the forum! Always interesting to see Honda's offerings in other parts of the world, and haven't seen that model before myself. What year is it?

Looks like a scooter your son can grow into, or use as an excuse to sport some platform shoes!

another UK member  im pretty sure redvisionmonster will be along soon to say hello, great choice for a first scoot, * soon get bored of the 30mph restrictions though, derestriction easy enough and speaking from experience its needed to stay alive on the roads over here, get him a jacket and gloves too if you already haven't he will need them eventually and * be glad he wore them when he comes off. judging by the exhaust its already had some mods so restrictions probably wont be in place lol, nice quad too  run it on good quality oil, clean it here and there, change the air filter, rollers and belt often and itll last him
A good toolkit is a hammer and a condom. If the hammer doesn't fix it, Use the condom to f**k it!

Thanks for the welcome and the advice. All restriction has been done on this 50cc think its a 1999 model and it will hit 60mph easy.
