Air Filter

Post by ringLord4 »

I just installed Taz's big bore kit (48 mm) on my 1984 Spree. I have some UNI filter 1" plugs that I am supposed to install in the airbox. I had a problem when drilling the hole though and broke off part of the air box top.

I am considering buying an actual air filter with a 90 degree bend to put on the carb instead of messing with the airbox.

Any recommendations for this?

Taz mentioned one on Uni filters website but I couldn't find it. How about those ebay ones? Anybody done this?

BTW new kit is great also put in his gears and bigger jet. Looking forward to getting this thing broken in and ready to ride! :)

I put in Taz's recommended jet size for this kit. It's a lot bigger jet than stock. Which is why I need more free flow from my air filter. I'm looking for specifics that people have tried and tested to be true. I am aware that i need an angled filter on it. Just, where do I get it, what have people done who are in my shoes?

Thanks.

Yes, I was told by Taz to put these air filter plugs on the airbox. He gave me a larger jet to use with this setup

Where do you get this setup? Link??
