#740 Boyesen reeds, 90 jet and a new airfilter. Its gonna be epic bottom end baby :-D I also have Dr Pulley slider weights on the way for the variator cant wait to get em. New belt on the way as well. Oh yeah I have new EBC brakes for front and rear waiting to go in too. No use making it go faster if it has near 30 year old brake shoes on it. The shoes have most of the material left but why mess with old stuff when your butt is on the line ;-)

I forgot how much stuff has to come off just to get at the reeds on that thing even the shock has to come off.
My favourite tool for taking everything apart is my small 12volt impact with a long 1/4ÔÇ£ extension with a universal on the end makes quick work of it. I did notice that if one wants more flow out the aero 80 check the reed stopper. The reed stopper on mine was only alowing about 1/3 to a 1/2 of the possible flow. Bend the stopper back till it almost touches the case and proper flow will happen.

I also noticed that someone oiled the air filter with k&n filter oil, I'm sure the dealer did it when she had it in for service because no one else would have done it. Don't oil your stock spree or aero filter with anything else than what the manual says, or it won't work! The red oil does not stay put and gravity takes it down to the bottom of the air box. I think its designed for cotton filters only. I bought two filters one to put in and a spare. Glad I did.

The boyesen reeds might open a little more than bending the stopper, but its the two stage design that makes them special. Had I realized that the stopper was so restrictive I would have bent it back first and put the 90jet in the carb and run it for a while before spending the cash on the 2stage reeds. The 2stage reeds are great but just buying a 90jet and bending a stopper, and possibly cutting new intake tube gaskets is really really cheap. You can buy a jet for a few bucks and gasket paper is cheap, heck couldn't one use cereal box card board for gasket material just grease it well or oil it well? Even buying a sheet of gasket material can't cost more than a few bucks. So let's just say a jet and gasket paper cost 10 or 15$ and the time to take things apart, for the extra performance you get its a no brainer. Had I remembered what jet fit the aero carb, I had a pack of jets to fit that carb that cost me 6$ from China on eBay, I'm sure there is a 90 in the little baggie.
