Re: SB50P carb
Sb 50 and spree are the same intake bolt pattern if I'm not mistaken because the reeds and intakes are interchangeable. So you need a special adapter plate to bolt the ct intake on there it should fit as long as there is clearance. It fits the spree. Taz sells the whole setup you will need, adapter plate, intake ,reeds, pwk oko carb and throttle cable for a super price. Order a pack of assorted main jets and some pilot jets and tune away.

Ok cool thx
Re: SB50P carb
The best advice is to enjoy the sb50p for what it is. Spending 300 plus clams to get a couple of mph in my opinion is a waste. I really enjoy just a nice cruise around the hood on a regular basis. If I want to go faster I ride one of my other scooters.

Greetings:
If you have those clams, some time and a thirst to see what you can squeeze out of that E - AND Pete isn't actually giving you one of his other scooters - mod away. Just be sure to share your results. I for one am interested in how you do.

Re: SB50P carb
If I was to get a different carb is there a way around the bystarter??? I've been looking at other carbs but they are all pull chokes.

Re: SB50P carb
I think you can use a primer bulb on most carbs, you can on the spree carb as someone posted not long ago. That would help solve the choke issue. Some carbs you can swap the pull choke for a cable and mount the pull knob somewhere easy to get to.

Re: SB50P carb
Greetings:
Some have managed to swap the plunger for a stiff-enough wire that they can curve around to somewhere under the saddle. Pulling up is easy, but if the wire isn't stiff or bent too far, pushing it down is more challenging. The Elite skirts at least let you reach the knob. Spree plastics pretty much block that. Maybe an artfully cut slit?

Re: SB50P carb
The easiest carb swap is to keep it in the family. Keihin makes several models in different sizes that fit your existing controls, bystarter, etc. I use a Keihin 18mm ATV carb on my Dio, and was a direct replacement for the 14mm stock unit. I did have to bore out the manifold to match, using a Dremel. But it was a huge bang for the buck!bjdipert269 wrote:I have an 89 elite SB50P and I was wonering if there was any performance carbs for these
