oil ratio

Post by Duke »

Still tuning my Aero 50, I have the Malossi Cast Iron with head, Arreche 19mm , and Leo Vince SP3. I am currently running #80 main, 15 pilot on 32 : 1 oil premix. I have a little over a 100 miles on the kit and it seems to be running better now, less four-stroking and I can ride it around without fouling plugs. I tried to order some more jets and a leaner needle from a company in Canada (Scoot-tuning) I have paid for my parts but haven't received them yet, it appears that they are being discontinued. :( Maybe I have it close enough with the current setup. What oil ratio should I be running once this kit is broken in?

Greetings:

I had a 17.5 Arreche that I believe also came with a 15 Pilot installed. It sounds pretty small. I think I was using a 20 or even a 30, in a smaller carb than yours. Watch your temperatures when you coast from speed with throttle closed. I remember having trouble getting the low-speed and midrange mixture to behave until a different emulsion tube was suggested by a feller at The Moped Hospital in Key West. After that it ran really clean - seamless and linear.

Thanks for that , Wheelman. I am still having issues in the midrange , part throttle. It seems to hesitate a bit then picks up again.Temps running around 300 with some spikes at 350 when full throttle.
