The 83/84 seems to be an orphan for current aftermarket parts. Sadly - Bore kits, gear kits, pipes and trans parts for the later model do not fit the early Aero.

It all depends on your performance goals. What do you mean by "faster"?
As Mr. Mouse remarked, there's nothing much that's "bolt-on". Mounting a less-restrictive air filter has the potential to liven things up a little, but it won't transform it into a Hayabusa - maybe 1MPH more. Plus that decision has repercussions downstream. If you don't adjust carburetor jetting, it can run hotter impacting reliability. If it really doesn't matter if the top speed is 38 instead of 37, sometimes Stock is just fine.
Perhaps the easiest path to slightly-higher performance is an engine swap. Not many here have experience with the '83 engine mounting system, but pics would help evaluate the feasibility of adapting an AF16E block from an Elite SR, which even in stock form has enough power to reach 50 simply by adding 9:1 gears. Advanced Modifications to that engine put 60, 70, even 80+ within reach, albeit at a price in reliability. If you go there, consider the Aero's front brakes.

hey wheelman ive got one! dont you know evey members bikes yet?
i did the af05e swap in my 84 aero. in the next few days im going to see what i can do to make the original engine (84) faster, i mean the thing comes with great stock gears for top speed!!!!
so what can be done to the 83 for speed?
1.) you can take the centerpiece of the variator in to a shop and have it milled to fit a bigger variator
( this is easy and pretty much bolt on 15ish for the shop work and 25ish for a rukus variator)
2.) you can crack the case and port it. but this is a big job and if you have never done it before you might feel intimidated ( you shouldn't though, just go slow and be clean and organized) this is also a great time to replace gaskets and what not. it will cost about $60-100 in tools and $25 in gaskets)
2.b just port the the exhaust port ( its worse than the af05e guys) just take your head off and go at it
3.) buy a exhaust pipe without the header ( the part that connects to the bike) like the mlm one on treatland.com (or the mlm website lol) and have someone who can weld attach it to your old muffler header. $150-200 ish?
after that..... well i have not looked into it yet because its like 3rd in line on my table.
but..... i do have the engine pulled right now, as well as an af05e pulled so if you honest to god really want me to..... ill check some parts compatibility for yea. i know the carb looks different ( bystarter on other side) but the intake might be the same
maybe an aero80 carb would fit or something

also engine mount on the 83-84 is super similar to the later model af05e engine mounts. it just doesn't have the rubber part found on some mounts
