Funny loose cable

Post by JakeTheNoob »

Hello,
I just remebered that while i was looking under the right panel of my 1984 spree that there was a loose female power cable thing... It looked like a normal house plug but enclosed in a metal box. does anyone know what im talking about and does anyone know if its supposed to go anywhere? its a few inches behind the oil tank

some info would be nice: What color is the wire; Where does it come from (if possible to find out).

also another thing to look for is a connector without a mate.

A house plug?
Did someone actually put a block heater on that thing?

Actually, i checked it again and it doesnt have any plugs on the bottom at all and i made it up in my mind...
Its just a metal box about an inch on all sides and has one thickish wire going into it, but its not connected to anything else... what is that?

I think i really learned a lot in the last couple of days.. I know i hardly know anything but i actually do know what the air box is and now i know what a petcock is etc... Its really not that complicated.. its mostly the vocabulary that im not familiar with.. anyways.. this thread is turning more into general discussion i think. Ill post back on "Just got one" thread about the repairs i get. maybe someone can explain them to me more in detail.

This scooter is 22 years old. I knew there would be some learning to do. also, i did have fun on it for the 5 minutes it ran.

I just loaded it into my van to take it to the shop. It should really be upright i think. its slightly tilted. Anyone think it would be a problem?

Random question: can it go up a steep hill? The shop is at the bottom of one of the steepest hills in town... should i try and go around the hill or what?
Thanks
