Final Drive Gear Question

Post by trailboss »

When I spin the rear wheel with the motor off I hear a mild growl when spinning the wheel in either direction, is this normal? The gear oil was drained and replaced, the drain oil had a very silver/grey color to it, is this normal?
Is the final drive gear helical cut?

I have an 1984 honda spree. Where is the drain plug for the gear oil? I dont see one. I see where you can add gear oil but no drain??

the filler is the drain you have to tip the bike on its side to get the oil out .Or remove the gear cover and fit a new gasket on install

what engine, i ran 5 yrs without changing the trans oil but i ran synthetic oil, it came out silver but no damage was done, on other scoots if you overfill it leak out of the vent.
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!
