Re: nb50 and nh80 carb swap
I would check out the aero 80 manual it should give the hose locations. I had my carb off my 80 a month ago and I can't remember what went where. A couple of those hoses are for the bystarter. Which you can use a simple valve to make a manual setup.

Oh you will need to zip off the tab next to the silver idle air screw to be able to properly adjust it.

Re: nb50 and nh80 carb swap
So i went ahead and bought the vacuum thing that is missing from the original aero80. my remaining 3 plugs and the carb go into that so it should be plug and play
now for the last piece of the puzzle .....
What uni filter should i get that will fit the aero 80 carb
and!!!!!
most importantly, What jets will i need for the main and pilot with a uni filter?
just a quick recap for jetting purposes i have ported my block and my stock 50cc cylinder. i have a leo vince pipe and want to run the nh80 carb/intakes/reeds with a uni

Re: nb50 and nh80 carb swap
ill take pictures tomorrow but right now i cant get the carb. to pull gas from the fuel tank. Any ideas why?
all lines are hooked up like a stock nh80 im pretty sure.
is there any chance the 49cc in not enough for the bigger carb and intake to create a vacuum for the petcock?

Re: nb50 and nh80 carb swap
so i lost my phone and wont have pictures for a while, probably a few days. But! i dont think pics would help me here very much,
don't trust an mmeadows "pretty sure" lol, i was way off. line are now hooked up correctly and stock. nh80 vacuum and bi starter parts,
i also have the throttle cable disconnected from the handle bars so i can use it while sitting down next to the carb.
my oil pump is fully open all the time.
attempt number 1
no air box, stock jets. It would start if i gave it alot of throttle but would run very rough. and low rpms. ( needless to say i almost pooped my pants with excitement hearing it run for the first time in a year with its new nh80 carb, reeds porting and leo pipe)
short intermittence
realizing i was running scary lean i decided to take a break until i could get more parts. but then, as i was working on my other scooters, i thought about how my aero80 main jets looked familiar, and remembered a set of dio jets i was sent by mistake, and wouldn't ya know.... they fit the aero80 carb
and then to make it even sweeter, i heard a knock at the door and it was my uni filter, seriously 10 min after attempt 1)
Attempt number 2
Uni Filter, number 95 main jet, stock small jet/ idle jet. started right up but then idle kept revving up ( to high for my liking with new rings) so i killed the engine. And yes i had the throttle assembly in correct.
Attempt 3
Took the slide out to make sure everything was put back properly, and now she wont start
I'm going to re read the nh80 manual's carb section. anything i should look at especially close?
in regards to jets. any recommendations on the nh80 slow jets? only one is still offered from Honda (the aero125 40 jet) and its 17.99 + waiting.
I WANT TO RIDE!!!!

Re: HELP!! nb50 and nh80 carb swap
So the air screw is a factory preset and cant be adjusted. my plug is very wet. could this have anything to do with my 95 jet or uni filter?

HELP!! nb50 and nh80 carb swap
I would go with an 85 jet and buy Uni 1" air filter hole plugs. They work great. You simply drill out 1" holes with a wood bit (slowly) and pop those little 1" plugs in their that have air filters on them. 3-4 should do. Works great, I have it on my 84 Spree.mmeadows wrote:So i went ahead and bought the vacuum thing that is missing from the original aero80. my remaining 3 plugs and the carb go into that so it should be plug and play

HELP!! nb50 and nh80 carb swap
Not the filter... Could be jet
Re: HELP!! nb50 and nh80 carb swap
so i cant find it now but i remember a chart that explained during certain parts of throttle, only certain carb parts are in play.
the air filter and main jet dont really matter until 1/2 throttle onward.
isnt starting and the first 1/4 throttle only concerned with the throttle screw and air screw?
where does float level come into play?
i feel like im running out of options
