86 Spree dies as soon as throttle is applied

Post by Ruuunutz »

Got running after about a year. Idol is very fast while on stand, but as soon as throttle is applied even on stand, dies out immediately. Please reply in most layman's terms as possible. This is my first post, and never did much work on Spree before, but willing to try with the help of this great forum. Thanks

TJ is right that is classic spree, with no air box lid, or cover or hose or all of the above missing or completly out of order. Make sure there is a properly oiled air filter in the airbox as well. The best bet is to replace the filter if you arent sure of its condition they are very inexpensive and needed for proper operation.
